SUN’S OUT FUN’S OUT
A sunny guide to summertime skin safety
Whether it’s tackling childhood immunisations or soaking up the sun, OMSMAF is your partner in health, bringing you benefits that keep your body strong, healthy, and, most importantly, safe.
Sunshine, summertime, and skin safety
Now that the sun’s out to play, it’s time for some quick and easy sun safety tips. Given Mzansi’s high skin cancer risk, a little protection goes a long way.
But first, did you catch the news about our dermatologist consultation benefit? If you’re over 35, it’s a biennial date with a dermatologist for skin cancer screening.
Five tips to shine brighter
- A daily dose of sunscreen: Make it a routine – sunscreen after moisturiser and before makeup if you’re wearing it.
- SPF magic: Your sunblock sidekick should have a minimum SPF of 30 to 50 to be the superhero of skin protection.
- Reapply, rejoice: Liberally reapply every 2 to 3 hours, hitting those easy-to-miss spots like ear tips and the gaps between fingers and toes.
- Chill indoors: The sun’s rays are harshest between 10:00 and 16:00 in summer, where possible stay out of the sun.
- Stylish sun armour: A wide-brimmed hat, UV-cool shades and protective threads will keep you safe while injecting extra flair.
- Wrap up and get your glow on!
Being a sunshine pro is all about keeping it cool and protected. And with OMSMAF by your side, you’ve got the wellness perks to make it happen. So, slather on that sunscreen, throw on your shades and let the good times roll. Stay sun-safe, stay fabulous!
