GET TO KNOW YOUR NEW PRINCIPAL OFFICER
Introducing Pamela Botha
When the going gets tough, Pamela is in your corner – with the full weight of your dedicated medical scheme right behind her.
With over two decades of experience in the healthcare environment, we at OMSMAF warmly welcome Pamela Botha as our new principal officer (PO), a role befitting her qualifications and her passion for healthcare with heart.
Before joining the Fund, Pamela was PO to one of the country’s leading retail group medical schemes, prior to which she gained particular insight into various areas of the healthcare industry. From private hospital groups – where she developed a deep understanding of the human healthcare experience – to medical aid administration and the technical intricacies of fund management, Pamela is well versed across the board.
As a firm believer that your medical scheme should be your partner in good health, Pamela is passionate about member wellbeing. A big part of this means ensuring that members are always kept updated and fully in the know when it comes to their medical scheme and how best it can work for them. At the end of the day, no member should ever have to choose between the care that they or a loved one needs and what they can afford. That is why, in Pamela’s view, knowledge is wealth, and by ensuring that members are well-informed, OMSMAF can provide each member with the tools needed to be fully prepared for whatever lies ahead.
As a wife and mother, Pamela’s passion for people naturally includes her family – her husband and their sixteen-year-old daughter. She is also blessed with two wonderful adult stepdaughters, one of whom has a beautiful baby boy that brings the family much delight, “even if it does make me a granny before my time,” laughs Pamela.
While she was something of an adrenaline junkie in her youth, having enjoyed such heart-racing pursuits as sky diving, bungy jumping and diving with sharks, Pamela is now a self-proclaimed homebody and can think of nothing better to do on a Sunday afternoon than tinker around in the garden or curl up with a good book. Having lived in the greater Cape area for most of her life, she is fully ‘tweetalig’ and enjoys switching between English and Afrikaans without missing a step.
As OMSMAF’s new PO, Pamela looks forward to drawing on her years of experience to bring improvements and enhancements to the Fund while ensuring that the members of OMSMAF continue to be well cared for now and into the future.
Welcome Pamela!
